The Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT) and the South African Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) have been busy since 2012 preparing the Red List of Mammals of South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland, last published in 2004.
Here is an extract adapted from the 2016 published list for the seven species of the wild cat family (Felidae) that occur in South Africa:
